Registration at the Consulate
To overcome the inconvenience of distance, which is present in Australia, the Consulate General of France in Sydney strives to conduct regular rounds in the states of the district to facilitate the accomplishment of certain administrative formalities (collection of applications for national identity cards and passports, collection and surrender of nationality). Each tour date will be updated on our website.
The Consular Agency of France in Adelaide works under the authority of the Consulate General of Sydney. Mrs Sue Crafter has been appointed Honorary Consul and performs her role voluntarily.
The Honorary Consul is competent for a limited number of administrative acts:
Issuance of life certificates
Issuance of residence certificates
Certification of compliance with original copies and photocopies of documents
Completion of formalities relating to the transport of bodies or ashes

In case of absolute urgency and outside the opening hours of the Consular Agency, you can contact the Sydney duty officer at + 61 (0) 419 015 294.
This emergency number is exclusively reserved for French nationals who come to find themselves in a serious situation (accident, death).
It is in no way intended for applications concerning visas or other formalities.

Registration at the consulate
Any French citizen residing abroad for a minimum period of 6 months has the possibility to apply for registration in the French register established outside France. Administrative formalisation simple and free, the consular inscription is acquired on justification of three elements:
Identity, French nationality and residence in the consular district.

The Consular Agency of Adelaide
The Consular Agency of Adelaide can assist you in both French and English.
Sue was appointed Honorary Consul of France in Adelaide in June 2012 after being trained by the previous Honorary Consul.
Prior to this position, Sue worked in the public sector, the private sector, and in voluntary associations. Sue has developed real estate projects, urban and social.
Laurence has been living in Adelaide since January 2015 and has been working at the Consular Agency since August 2017.
Laurence has also been the coordinator of the Franco-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Australia for almost two years. In France, Laurence completed a Master of Law and worked in the social sector before leaving for Australia.
